I finally made it to Miyako, yesterday, and it was open! :-)
A few corrections to my directions, yesterday:
You go south on 1, to the 41st Ave exit, then hang a right, and go to the
3rd light (not the first.) This is about 3-4 blocks, (not 1-2), and you
turn left at the "World Savings ATM" bank (big brown building), rather than
"Sumitomo Bank". There's also a McDonalds sign right there, as another
marker of where to turn left.
They're open for lunch from 11:30am-2pm. I think every day except
Monday. And they have a cool all-you-can-eat buffet for $7.95. The sushi in
that is just rolls, like California, Tuna, cucumber, and (I think) crab,
with perhaps a few others in there, but they also have lots of rice (a
couple of varieties) veggies, tempura, huge numbers of gyoza, chicken wing
drumettes, and various other things, along with miso soup, etc.
It truly was filling, and I had a good time. I'm sure you can also order
ngiri and specific things if you want them from the sushi bar.
I also ran into a bunch of old co-workers from my days at SCO, and it was
quite good to catch up with them. In fact, several of them will be joining
the list in the next few days.
Speaking of which, I see 8 new folks who just joined yesterday. Welcome!
:-)

Who's sushi-adventures today will probably only come as close as the guys
swimming around the tanks in the Monterrey Bay Aquarium... :-)
