My sister isn't on the list yet, but I forwarded her some of the notes (as a
tease to get her to join!) and here's her reply:
"I just read the other msgs. and have to also give a "yes" vote for Hagashi
West, although I disagree with Dave...It's on the expensive side of sushi.
They serve large pieces of meat. I have a friend who's son used to work
there
and she told me that the 49ers were often seen there (they liked the larger
sized fish.) Seating is limited and the waiting area is small, so bring a
coat
in case you have to wait outside. It's got nice presentation and
ambiance...which means you should dress a bit nicer. BUT! MiYako in Capitola
is much better. So is the Pink Gorilla in Capitola, especially if you like
specialty rolls."
