Howdy, Heather! Thanks for breathing some life into this too-quiet
list! :-)

A good question. I would guess that maybe they last got fish on a
Friday? I think I've heard of M-W-F schedules for some places, but of course,
that depends on the restaurant.
In Santa Cruz, most of the sushi shops are closed on Monday (I found
it VERY difficult to find a place open there on Monday a few years ago), but
Shogun Sushi on Pacific Ave bucked that trend and decided to close on Sundays,
since they're right in the walking mall and it's busy during the week.
If you've got a favorite place (or several), you might want to ask the
chefs there which days *they* recommend for the best fish. They're usually
more than happy to help out from my experience, and probably would be glad to
get the repeat business.
