The future of transportation is an evolutionary process in action. The inevitable result is going to mean safer, faster, and more efficient vehicles and infrastructure.

New sleek and inexpensive aircraft designs make this reality far closer than most think. The FAA and NASA have laid the groundwork for a system of navigation and air traffic avoidance. Cities are getting their mass transit into shape, and companies like http://www.wingco.com are making the aircraft required for this next reality.

They are making a 5 place kit aircraft that is glued together stronger than titanium.

Imagine being able to go to the next state for lunch.. To the other side of the country for a long weekend. Commute to Idaho and fix up that server farm, making it home for dinner.

It comes in four main parts, plus the pre completed wings. Seats, an all plane chute, landing gear, controls, windows are part of the package.

An engine is around 17k, hardware another 5k, an electronic EEFIS for 8k, radio's and carpet will be another 3k.

OH yeah, better learn how to fly - 2k in most states.

THIS EQUALS a legal 300mph transportation device with over 18,000 landing facilities in the US. Coming soon: automatic navigation and landing systems. National wireless backbone. for the price of a Mercedes. Allbeit an expensive one.

MIT has combined their energy and environment departments, it is being headed by an affable fellow from a hydroengineering background who loves cars.

STERLING ENGINES HAVE COME OF AGE.
