The latest version of X-Plane(5.54) will now allow you to design/build and
fly airships.
"Blimps/zeppelins now possible.. enter the displaced weight in the weight
and balance window in Plane-Maker. The HINDENBURG comes with the full
download..."
...and to make it even more attractive, they are doing a limited time,
special price of $39.99 - I should have waited a couple of years ;-)
I have not played with it yet, but I would imagine with X-Planes' very
accurate aerodynamic modeling capabilities, it will give the ability to
design/build/test/refine our wildest airship ideas without committing to
Mylar, glue, brown paper, bailing wire, strange gasses, old underwear etc.
