Hi, guys. I know this is slightly off topic, but given the "alternative"
nature
of so many of Pat's lists, I thought you might enjoy this. Yes, I asked
permission, and yes, Pat said it was OK.
-----------
You find some weird stuff on the net. I followed a link labelled
"Physical immortality" or some such thing, and came upon a very
interesting site. Thought I'd share it with you.
There's this Chinese guy who has come up with magnetic health devices
that supposedly actually work. Unlike most of the magnetic stuff on
the market, his discovery uses the ancient nation of ch'i and energy
flow.
He determined the positions on the body, and the *polarity* of the
magnets that were needed to reinforce the flow of energy through the
body, and stimulate healing.
I've no idea if it works...but it sounds good. And, being based in the
same notions as acupuncture (scientifically proven to work) and other
Oriental medicine, I tend to take it a little more seriously.
Ready for this one? He's been awarded US patents on these things, and
he even encourages DIY experimentation, giving complete construction
instructions on his site. Charletains don't usually do this...I think he
actually believes in his invention.

At the very least, take a look at the site. While I'm highly skeptical
of
the immortality claims, magnets have been demonstrated to influence
tissues, and sometimes stimulate healing.
