I think you mean Hoberman Spheres. Created by Chuck Hoberman. (You
can find info, pictures, animations, and order a very cool model at
http://www.hoberman.com/ ) I just got one recently as an X-mas present.
The Dyson-sphere was proposed by Freeman Dyson, and is another
mega-construct that hasn't been built yet. A Dyson-sphere would be a
gigantic sphere built completely surrounding a star at roughly
earth-habitable distances. In the case of our sun, roughly 93 million miles
radius.

Here's an experiment to try at home: Every time you take a shower or use the
sink, put the plug in to see how much water you're using.
Then figure out a way to reduce it next time.
