AHH the meat of the matter. Somehow, I assumed that it would be a loose
association of independent business owners working off of a barter
set-up. Hmmm councils, oligarchy, navy and Police. All institutions that
need some substantial improvement from any model that has been seen to
date. Farms, Co-ops and communities, kibbutsim, etc. have worked well
outside of the neo-traditional governmental legislative bodies that seem
to have gone so wrong in the past coupla thousand years worth of
'progress'. Could an entire legislative body fit on a city and still have
space left for the ones actually working? Some advocate consensus for all
things, but in our limited abilities as friendly citizens, it is evident
that much evolution is required for this to work well. Perhaps harnessing
the self reliance and survival instinct that would motivate one to live
on this type of fabrication by having a corporate structure, run from the
bottom up with profit sharing, and mutual support through common goals,
i.e. survival-and if designed right, flourishing. The real danger posed
is from surplus income, and idle time. Once things get rolling, perhaps a
mandatory off ship disguised as PR tour circuit.
